Joseph H. Calvin, III was born in Decatur, Alabama on June 10, 1962. In 1987-1988, immediately after obtaining his legal degree, Joe Calvin served as Law Clerk to Hon. E. B. Haltom, Jr., United States District Court for the Northern District of Alabama. When asked what abilities he applied to winning a case, Joe said: "Details, Details, Details. Facts are central to winning or losing cases, so at the beginning of each case, I focus on learning who the players are and what the evidence is - whether it be good or bad. Only then can I properly evaluate a case and give worthwhile advice." When questioned about which facets of legal practice were most rewarding to him, Joe said that being exposed to a number of differing businesses, socio-economic issues and opportunities to form strategies and help clients resolve situations favorable to their interests was a constant and absorbing challenge. Noteworthy
Cases: Brown vs. Bank One - In a successful defense of Bank One, we defeated the Certification of this Nationwide class action suit at the preliminary class certification hearing, effectively keeping the suit from going further. American Disability Association vs. Bridgestone/Firestone.
